# Getting error while creating postgress create user

createuser: could not connect to database postgres: could not connect to server: No such file or directory  
Is the server running locally and accepting  
connections on Unix domain socket “/var/run/postgresql/.s.PGSQL.5432”?

You’ll need to give us a bit more to go on here. All we can say at the moment is “postgres isn’t running, or you can’t get at the socket if it is”.

When i run the bash command, it get stopped at this error from virtual box.

To take a little step back here, what specific install instructions are you talking about, can you link to it?
