# Gif emojis are being imported as flat images

It seems since gif avatars are no longer supported the gif emojis are being imported as flattened images. As per this topic [Animated GIF avatars no longer supported by default](https://meta.discourse.org/t/animated-gif-avatars-no-longer-supported-by-default/167224) Gifs on posts shouldn’t be affected.

@nbianca has a PR that fixed this, I merged it today.

You will be in charge of appropriately sizing the animated emojis, careful they are not too big.
