# Giphy component installed but still getting error message

I add the component to the theme. I then get the GIF option but when I try and enter it I get the following error message:

No, I don’t think so. Do I need to get the API key from Giphy?

You need an API key from the provider you chose in the component’s settings. So if you choose “Giphy” in the `API provider` setting, you need to add the API key you got from Giphy to the `Giphy API key` field. If you choose Tenor, you need to add the API key from Tenor to the `Tenor API key` field.

If I remember correctly, you can no longer use Giphy for free.

I had the same error - think that GIPHY still changing something in API. I already started looking other integrations and saw KLIPY’s [gif api](https://klipy.com/developers) and wondering if anyone has some experience with it?
