# Good guidelines for a community

Hello, it’s @png again. I’d like a template for guidelines for a community I’m going to make soon. I’ve been think of some for little while but it hasn’t been looking too good compared to other community forums 😅

For our community, I started out with the Discourse guidelines, but shortened them notably, so there’s just 3 headlines in plain sight:
- **Improve the discussion**
- **Be respectful**
- **Stay on topic**

I also like how dev.to structured their code of conduct with 3 straightforward statements:
- **Our pledge**
- **Our standards**
- **Enforcement**
