I think my forum is giving out ‘Good Share’ badges for moderators – and I think it is because the small posts which have the “N messages were split to X topic” text. Clicking that causes some kind of counter to tick and I’m constantly getting Good Share badges as the admin on my server…
Unlikely. Good Share requires the referer to contain the userid in the URL (the way you’d copy the URL from the share button), and I don’t think those do .
Maybe it’s the private message that causes it then?
I think that it’s been suggested that search engines crawl those links and up the click counts.
I also get lots of share badges on various discourse forums, including meta, and they don’t make sense to me so I’m just ignoring them.
