Google Universal Analytics don't update the location

(Piotr Szal) #1

When I browse throw the topics, the location which is send to google universal analytics is always the same. It change only after page reload.

I am using this chrome plugin Google Analytics Debugger - Chrome Web Store for debug.

And tests is for example here : http://forum.pragmaticentrepreneurs.com/

The location is always the same.
Is this the expected behavior?

GoogleUniversalAnalytics Update is not called when GA is enabled

Anyone else seeing this?

Yes. When browsing to a topic, the page view is not registered in Analytics. Only a full browser page reload (when on that topic) will show it as a page view. This is using the newer universal analytics code.

I am not seeing this.

Looking at my analytics on meta I see the “Page” param changes every time I click around. I do see weird Campaign stuff. And an incorrect Page Title though.

Hmm. Are you looking at the “Content” tab under “Real Time”?

If I type in my http://discourse.example.com/ URL and click around to topic pages from there at the latest list, I just get a bunch of page views of / racking up, not the individual topic URLs.

I am looking at what we are posting up to analytics, its a bit confusing, I guess the title thing can not be causing it, Will try on a low volume instance to see what is going on.

Are we all doing the same thing? i.e. using the ga universal tracking code site setting with our UA-nnn number and “auto” for ga universal domain name?

I see, 2 flavors on analytics … the more recent one is broke

just fixed that

Title issue is still there just real hard to fix.
