# Granular API support for creating users?

Is there a way to scope an API key down to creating users in Discourse? I didn’t know if maybe the capability might be tucked under the `update` option, possibly.

Were you able to find an answer to your question?
I just had a look at the API keys and don’t see the ability to create an API key that is scoped to creating users. If not and you have a good use case for it, this would be a great feature request to post in #Contribute > Feature.
