# Group assignment notification

I have a user asking for an email notification when a topic is assigned to a group she’s in. I’m not finding anything around that. Am I missing it, or it is really not there?
…Could it be there? 😃

And now I have another user asking _not_ to be notified in-app (notifications menu) when his groups are assigned topics. 😃
We have notifications preferences sections for
- Categories
- Users
- Tags
How about one for Groups as well? 😃

I don’t think we have seen that request before but are planning a related change. Currently, historical group assign notifications persist in the menu even after they’ve been un-assigned / re-assigned.
To improve this, we’re planning to auto-delete the outdated ones automatically. Do you think that will help your user(s)?

It might help the one who wants to turn off group notifications…
