# Group read state cannot be enabled on automatic groups

For all automatic groups (admins, tl0, etc), if you enable the group read state, and then refresh the page, it disables itself again.

What is the desired outcome? Should those who can manage the group be able to enable read state for messages, or should this option be hidden from the interface for automatic groups?

Personally, I’d expect it to be settable, so e.g. you could have it known when staff have seen your message, but I could see it going either way here.
