It’d be really nice to have the guidelines come up from the first-class search box when folks naturally want to find guidance about the site itself. For example, the phrase “well-lighted place” is a fairly unique phrase in the guidelines here, but doesn’t come up with a search:

It’s because by default, the FAQ/Guidelines topic is in #staff, a restricted category.
If you move the topic to a public category, it will appear in the search for everyone.

I believe it’s also the fact that /guidelines is not a topic but a static page, hence not showing up in search results.

Yeah, but either way it seems quite useful to make sure that (and the other about pages, if there are any) are involved in search somehow.

That is possible by moving those topics to a public category, isn’t it?
I kind of like that they are not included here on Meta. If I search for ‘flag’ because I want to learn how it works in Discourse, the rules of this forum are not what I need. It’s like I want to search the picture, not the frame around it.
