# Hard to find the Markdown help button

This is a strawman. Maybe there’s a few hard-core helpful dev sorts that have the formatting rules memorized and need no documentation, but not all of the non-beginners have all of the formatting rules memorized.

With the different flavors of markdown, BBCode and html supported by different instantiations of Discourse, there is not a manual out there in the docs.

If someone does built a manual for the particular set of valid markup codes on a site, and wants to put a github-style help link on the composer page, as below, how would one accomplish it?
