Having capitalization/uppercase appear in Discourse categories?

(Jonathan Juan) #1

This is a very minor problem, but with the categories we have, they’re all written out in lowercase regardless of how they are actually typed. I’ve seen other boards have subcategories with uppercase/capitalization with their categories enabled, and I was wondering how I would go about doing that? Thanks.

This was dealt with here: (Really minor) Capitalisation of category names, intentional?

@Kahi where are you seeing them in lowercase? As @rubydoob said, the team fixed it in a commit very recently, but they could have missed something somewhere

If I’m looking at latest, new, unread, etc., the tags at the end do not have capitalization:

But we do have them capitalized when we made the categories

I’m wondering how we can make the uppercase characters appear for the category tags in that first image.

Are you on the latest version of Discourse? Also, do you perhaps have a custom css that is making them lower case? Because I tested locally and indeed I retain the mixed case on the topic list.

There’s always CSS: text-transform: capitalize

Ah, thank you! That was the problem we were having.
