# Help me add a custom category icon

First thing - do not use the category icons theme component - it has been deprecated and [the functionality is in core](https://meta.discourse.org/t/bringing-popular-features-to-discourse-header-search-welcome-banner-and-category-icons-emoji/359169#p-1741866-category-icons-and-emoji-7).

You need to add `fab-aws` to the admin setting `SVG icon subset` like this:

then you should be able to select it in the icon drop-down selector in the category settings (refresh your browser after changing the admin setting above):
