Hidden icons in menu items of user pages?

(Claas Aug.) #1

I noticed that the menu items on the user pages have icons that are there, but hidden. Is this a bug or a feature?

Go here:

It looks like this:

And it could look like this (by removing the glyph css class from and adding a whitespace after the icons):

Isn’t this an intentional design decision and not a bug?

Else why would there be this CSS?

.user-navigation .nav-stacked .glyph {
    display: none;
}

and here is the commit:

Thank you for taking the time to pointing this out. It does make sense, but just to explain why I asked:

In German, Likes Received translates to Erhaltene „Gefällt mir“-Angaben, which is significantly longer, uses two lines and is not as readable. So if there was an icon, I could shorten the translation to :heart:-Angaben.

Override the CSS and the translation on the Customization Panel.

Some language are too verbose, my instance in Portuguese has the same problems, so you really need to be creative sometimes with the UX and localization. Good thing it’s easy to change those :wink:.
