# Hide Category Topics From Latest Topics

Muting the category will do that, but note that it also effects notifications.

In that case, you can set a category to be muted for everyone in the admin settings… the setting to search for is called `default categories muted`

Will users invloved in the post still be notified about any replies etc?

yes

Yes, if they’re tracking in the post. Which by default they will be if they have replied.
BUT a user who is not previously involved (not tracking) who gets mentioned won’t get notified ,🙁
