# Hide page?

Is there a way to completely hide the ‘/categories’ page from anyone that isn’t an admin?

If that’s not a reasonable request, can someone help me track down the elements needed to hide the “All categories” link in the sidebar? I tried several and none worked.

Hey @tknospdr

Could you elaborate a little on why you want to hide `/categories`? What outcome are you aiming for here?

Each Category has optional access control, so that list is tailored to the groups a visiting user is a member of. They also aren’t mandatory, you can achieve some taxonomies using tags alone.

It would really help to know the goal you have in mind.
