# Hiding User Emails from moderators

Hey there,
I’m apart of a team that runs the Discourse software for a simple gaming community. We like to select moderators to help out, however we found out that all user emails are completely public to the level of moderators which is a huge privacy issue for us. What steps can we take to restrict seeing emails to only a select trust level if any?

It doesn’t look like that’s an obvious built-in option at this point, but see the topics below for existing discussion and a possible solution regarding your question. It looks like you may be able to tinker with trust levels and achieve some amount of what you are asking for.
