# 如何允许新用户删除自己的主题？

Hi all,  
Currently, new users do not have permission to delete their topics. They have to contact a moderator to delete topics.  
How can I give them permission to delete their own topics? Actually, I wish all new users can do this without my manual operation.

There is no way to do this. Deleting a topic would implicitly delete any replies to the topic and thus give users the power to delete other people’s posts.

They can flag topics for deletion.

Really thanks for your reply.  
Does that mean a normal user can never delete his own topics?  
The only way to do this is to set him as a “moderator”?

That is correct yes. Topics get special protection because deleting a topic deletes all the replies to that topic as well.

Users can of course delete their own _posts_.
