# How can I lock a category so that nobody can post in it any longer?

I don’t want to delete the category, I want to be able to close/lock it so that I can open it up again and allow posting. Is this possible?

Of course.

Settings of a category:

`kaikki` is `everyone`. Now it is visible, but only an admin can write.
