Is this a good place to ask, what are the “slim” builds and can they be made use of by self-hosters?

Where a normal build is presently about 1G, the slim builds are about 600M. (Looking at [this index](https://hub.docker.com/r/discourse/base/tags?page=1&ordering=last_updated) of docker images)

([ask.discourse.com](http://ask.discourse.com) reckons these slim builds are useful for just these kinds of purposes, but I don’t know if the information is good.)
