# How can you change Discourse's default homepage view to a static html landing page?

Hi,

is there a way to set a custom html landing page for the home view?

Like `http://mydiscourse/ -> start.html`

I would like to generate my own start page for my Discourse instance.

What most people do is having `example.com` serving the static landing page and `forum.example.com` with Discourse.

It might not be right for you (and it wouldn’t be for me), but there are various ways to put an overlay on a site when not logged in. See the “call-to-action” (or CTA) discussion here, eg:

this method still showing discourse header on homepage in v1.9.0.beta12 +27 . i need to remove it.
