# How do I disable the "All outgoing email has ...." message

I am using a free mail service. I got it setup correctly but I see absolutely no need to email users with content from the forum. Either they come check out the site, or they don’t. Is there a way to hide this message? And when it says “all outgoing”, does this include important emails used in registration? Because it then talks about **notification emails**.

Yes, all email is disabled so nobody will be able to sign up.

Try it yourself to verify.

You can set the default notification settings for new users, so they do not grt the weekly email summary anymore or emails when they are mentioned. But these are great features to encourage participation so not sure why you would want to do that.

There is also the ability to hide site contents in notifications so users have to log in to see what they are being notified about and respond via the site.
