I read an interesting recent review of Google as a search engine (Googlebot) handles JavaScript, this review covers actual tests on page rank.

I thought the Discourse dev’s might be interested in.

Please note I am not suggesting that Discourse changes how it represents itself to search engines, nor specifically Googlebot; currently this would VERY likely have a negative impact.

For those that don’t know: Discourse currently delivers non-JavaScript pages optimized using some SEO best practices to a specific list of search engines based on their known User Agent strings.

Although a major part of this review which seems to be missing is the loading of content over AJAX / Single Page Application (SPA), but there was another blog post linked in the comments which covers some of this:

In-short it doesn’t look like infinite scroll is supported, but “links to pages” built in JavaScript are.
