# How long can a user edit its own topic title?

I remember there was a setting for the duration for which a user can edit its own topic but this privilege now seems to be reserved to users over trust level 3. What is the current default duration for which a user can edit its own topic title please?

This is set by the ‘post edit time limit’ site setting. Its default value is 86400 minutes (60 days.) You can disable the ‘post edit time limit’ by setting its value to 0. When this is done, users will be able to edit their posts forever.

How about the title of the topic? I see that there is a set amount of time users can edit their own post title, regardless of their trust level?
