# How not to allow posting in the parent category for users?

Let’s say I have parent category Level 1 with its sub-categories.

How can I prevent users from posting in the `Level 1` category?

Figured out.

I will need:

1. `Edit Category > Security`

2. Remove `everyone`

3. `Edit permissions`

4. Create `everyone` with `See` permission

IIRC there is currently no way to have sub-categories with more lenient permissions than their parent category.  
Would that be a problem for what you had in mind?

That’s only if you remove See permissions.
