# How to anchor to certain parts of a post?

How do I link to post **#6**?

I want to do something like:

`my.forum.com/my-thread-here/12345/6`

There’s also a button in the post controls (bottom of each post) that you can click on to get a link: ![](https://global.discourse-cdn.com/meta/original/3X/4/f/4f1de1142fba934acf6e2cdca6858dc998253df3.png)

Which also appends something like `?u=dylanh724` to the end of the link, associating it with your account.
