How to center text?

(A Dirty Rag) #1

I thought -> center <- was the markdown for it?

(Jeff Atwood) #2

There’s no standard Markdown for center.

(A Dirty Rag) #3

So there’s no way to center text on discourse? Q ,. Q

(Kane York) #4
Lies! It's totally possible! https://meta.discourse.org/raw/16416/4 (You'll need to open in new tab, the router doesn't display /raw)

Okay, I can see that it’s possible somehow. Problem is, in chrome, if I open that link in a new tab (or new window) I only get the baked HTML.

Does not explain how to do this in (discourse flavor) markdown.

(Régis Hanol) #6

No, it’s the raw markdown

@riking’s suggestion is a hack that uses HTML to center the text.

Lies!
Ohh… tricky, tricky.
Should note, though, that the HTML block needs to be
Nested inside single quotes, which do
Not Show for me in the linked raw version.

Also, Just doing that in HTML makes me appreciate the basic markdown formatting so much more.
