# How to change installation path?

Hello,
I want to install Discourse on a specific location with more spaces.
How can i set a different location than /var/discourse when i install Discourse ?

Just clone it there.
There’s nothing magic about that location. You’ll just need to remember to use whatever your path is rather than `/var/discourse`. Also note that Docker takes up space too, so you might need to make sure that you have space for it.
Finally, you could put Discourse at /var/discourse and mount the volumes that it gives Discourse wherever you like rather than `/var/discourse/shared`.
