# How to clone a group

Is there a way to efficiently clone a group?

For large number of groups, it gets tedious pressing `New` and the re-applying all the settings. Error-prone too.

What if we need a large number of group, each one slightly different from each other? A `clone` feature will be great under these circumstances.

Of course, only reasonable settings should be cloned. Group members probably should not be cloned.

If you need to do stuff like this I would recommend using the API now, there is no permission clone feature built in atm.
