How to Delete / Remove people from Group Messages?

(Bcguy) #1

There is a group of people on a PM discussion and one has asked me to remove him from the group.

How do I do that?

Or can people remove themselves from it?

This is not possible at this time, but has been requested before.

This is a big issue.

In my forums there is a group that is using the group PM feature like a semi private chat. They’ve invited a bunch of people and are sending all these messages back and forth.

Now one person has decided they no longer want to get all the notifications and wants to exit the group.

What are the possible work-arounds here??

I guess I could turn off all the notifications for that specific users - but thats pretty inelegant.

Other ideas?

At the moment, I think the best option is to have the user mute the PM.

Just mute that PM topic same way you would mute any other topic.

OK - it sounds like the user can mute the PM thread.

I’ve never used mute before - so I searched Meta - and it seems like the way to do this is this:

But I don’t see any “muted” options at the bottom of the thread.

Any tips? What am I missing?

Do you see a Watching button?
Click that to expand the options then click on Muted
