# Hoe items uit het menu uit te schakelen

Hi for the items in the MENU can i remove or disable the **Channles** and **Messages** section is it something that relevant and why? also as an admin user for example i can see all the entire menu but a non admin user should they the have that?  
my users requested that section is annoying i just want to desactived… please

If you don’t want to have the Personal Messages or Chat features you can disable them from your settings using `personal message enabled groups` and `chat enabled` (you can also make chat available to only certain groups instead using `chat allowed groups` and `direct message enabled groups`)

Or is it just need to hide those, because all of that makes sidebar crowded and there is another way to get all that?
