in my mac i use MAMP is a free, local server environment that can be installed under macOS
How to install discussions use MAMP ?

Discourse requires an entirely different set of tools than mamp.
You can search for \*development #howto mac". Note that the docker development environment is easier to install.

I first used [Install Discourse on macOS for development](https://meta.discourse.org/t/beginners-guide-to-install-discourse-on-macos-for-development/15772) 3 years ago, and still use it, so that’s a pretty good start on Mac as well.
