# How to move the New Topic button?

Hi,

I took a look at [New Topic Header Button](https://meta.discourse.org/t/new-topic-button-on-all-pages/84551) but it’s not exactly what I’m looking for. The new button doesn’t exactly have the same behavior as the default one.

I don’t want to _add_ a new button, but rather _move_ the existing button somewhere else on the site and couldn’t figure how to do it.

I tried removing the button handlebar code from the navigation template and put it somewhere else but it didn’t show up, so I guess there is something else that must be done. 😅
