A trivial theme component can achieve this…
Once you wrap markdown with:
[wrap=no-counts]
[/wrap]
It is surrounded by:
<div class="d-wrap" data-wrap="no-counts"></div>
So then you would use a single CSS rule in the theme components to hide the count element.
