# How to port GitHub issues to Discourse

At Dgraph, we’d like to switch a bunch of our GitHub public repository issues over to Discourse. Before shutting them down, we need to copy over all the existing open (or even closed) issues – so we don’t lose those. I see that some time ago, there was a plugin to do the port (probably around the time when Discourse switched away from GitHub issues), but it is no longer maintained.

Is there another mechanism that can be used to do the issue porting?

We never used GitHub Issues. But unfortunately you’re right, the GitHub Issues importer was eventually discontinued due to lack of interest from the wider internet. It just wasn’t getting used.
