# How to reply to staged user through discourse?

By distant user, do you mean staged user?

If yes, then they get notified on any reply to the topic/post they send an email to. See [this guide](https://meta.discourse.org/t/description-of-various-user-states-in-discourse-admin-moderator-staff-developer-other/35171) for details, specifically:
