How to stop entering topic at last read position?

(Rahul Banker) #1

Is it possible to just load the post page from the first post instead of getting it floated to the most recent reply?

I am not following, what are you trying to do?

enter a topic at the first post, rather than the most recent

if you click on this it works

or are you asking to change a setting for all users of an instance?

@awesomerobot I’m referring to this.

While on the homepage, if I click on posts, it floats to the most recent reply and highlights it. This happens on the posts I’ve replied to, I guess or I’ve seen it happening with some random posts I can’t figure why. Is it possible to just keep it to the first post instead of floating like this?

yes exactly, I want the default to load at first post instead of only when we click on that activity portion.

No, there is no way to force this as a user preference or site wide default.

Logged in users always go to their last read position when clicking the topic title.

As others mentioned you can click or tap the last post date to enter the bottom of a topic.

Eventually this probably could be a category setting, that way FAQ category could always take you to position 1 which may make sense
