# Improving Blocked User State

Oh, sorry. I did not mean to misrepresent anything.

And there is the problem. _one way._ To me, it goes against a lot of what Discourse is all about.

OK, so the current description of blocked is:

If I understand Discourse correctly, a PM is just like any other topic except it is restricted as to who can view it. If so, would blocking accomplish what I am looking for here (as it currently exists)?
