Even so, I’m curious to know at least whether there are any clear blockers to it, e.g. “We use brackets for something else”, “we can’t add another in-line handler or it will slow down all database queries by 30%” or whatever.

I see a [[ magic search as workable in a theme component today.

Only caveat is that the completion would strip [[ and replace with a link, not sure how else this could work. This makes ]] kind of pointless though

Keep in mind keeping auto complete open beyond a space boundary may be somewhat confusing
