# Discourse in SmartOS-Zone lx installieren

Hello everyone, I have a smartos server and would like to install discourse in a lx zone with ubuntu 16.04.
The problem I find is that I can’t install docker in an lx zone because it goes against the philosophy of smartos containers, has anyone tried it or know how to install it?

The discourse people are not going to support installing it there either. If you can’t use docker you’re on your own.

You can search for “development #howto” for some ways to set up a development environment, but it’s mostly going to be slow. For $5/month you can get a droplet on DigitalOcean (or similar) and it’ll be easy to install and work reliably.
