# "install this theme component" does not work with DiscourseConnect

- enable [DiscourseConnect](https://meta.discourse.org/t/13045?silent=true)
- Use the Install this Theme Component button
- Get a weird error message

Other variations are (depending on the discourse\_connect\_url)

`Excon::Error::TooManyRedirects`  
`Expected([200, 302]) <=> Actual(301 Moved Permanently)`

Yes - but apparently the plugin for this button makes a request from the backend of Meta to the forum, which is obviously not authenticated.
