# Internal link appears as very long excerpt

When I include an internal link in a post, the excerpt that gets generated is very, very long. I can’t find a site setting for this. It doesn’t seem to be related to plugins or themes, because I see this happening in [safe mode](https://meta.discourse.org/t/53504?silent=true) as well. Any clues?
