Introducing DisCorkie – A Multi-Instance Discourse Client

I do think it would be useful to put this in the OP as well, it will put people off if they have to find out the hard way.

I agree with Richard. Your update of the Op still does not detail the the current limit of 3 communities

I would add it to this part

Something like this

  • Multi-forum support – Connect to and switch between multiple Discourse communities. Currently limited to 3 Communities ATM during this phase of testing

I would also recommend adding this info to the add community in the interface as many might only skim and miss this detail.

Two, in my Windows app.

Ok yeah it is only 2. Thought I had 3 in there. They should increase to 3 or 4 during this time frame

I think it depends on the OS.

I’m using the Android version.

Your app is pretty good overall, but you can add anything that is helpful, appropriate, and smooth to make it even better. But overall, you’re good.

As I’m still using the long discontinued Fig app for iOS, I’ve long been looking for a active alternative that brings a same level of user experience. (yes I don’t see a PWA as a worthy alternative.)

And now after having more and more forums, also on Desktop the need came up, great to have the Flatpak!

Looking forward to the iOS beta/release, and further desktop app development!

(the most important features of a good app version are for me somehow, a well integrated UI which doesn’t break out of the ecosystems design principals, and a unified inbox for notifications and private messages)

Hey! Just released a new version of DisCorkie!

What do you think of me leting this thread always updated with the latest releases? Will it be too much?

Maybe an admin could convert the first post into a wiki. Then you could keep that up to date. This would have two advantages: new users would see everything important right away without having to read the entire topic, and the topic would be moved to the top when the OP is updated without you having to write a separate reply about the new version, which offers little value to future readers once a newer version is available.

I have done that now :+1:t3:

I’d be interested in using this on macOS.

Especially if it could force mobile layout of forums in a small window.

I have a Working Mac Version, I just didnt earn enough to afford an Apple Developer account :frowning:

The behaviour on narrow windows is exacly like you described.

Hey @messiaslima

I wondered

I don’t have the space on my device right now for download could DisCorkie eveuntualy be devloped into a webiste like the app?

The UI toolkit I’m using supports exporting for browsers using WASM. So theoretically it would be possible. But the question is, does it worth the effort as we have the official Discourse forums which are already available in browsers?

If more people like DisCorkie UX and want it in browsers, why not?
