Congratulations to the entire Discourse team! Was anxiously awaiting this announcement. 😉 I noticed that Enterprise has Plugins featured as an option while the Business plan does not. We’d be squarely in the Business package (coming from Vanilla) but would really want the ability to use plugins / pay for some custom plug-in work to be done, ideally done by the Discourse team itself. Am I correct in thinking that won’t be possible on the Business plan? Would love any details you can share on how Plugins / custom development will work with your hosting packages. Correct, custom plugins are only offered on the Enterprise plan – that requires an isolated container. Our goal with Discourse is to build a solution that has all the stuff 90% of communities would want, already built in. Thanks Jeff. Does that apply only to custom plugin work? Stated differently, will I be able to use existing approved community plugins in the Business plan - or is it limited 100% to a stock setup? ---

No plugins on the business plan, if we installed a plugin there it would appear for all Business clients no matter whether they wanted it or not.. You can still do all the HTML and CSS and site setting customizations you want of course. ---

That makes sense, but isn’t good for plugin developers 😄 Does wordpress have the same philosophy? I guess it is possible to still have a thriving plugin marketplace if the # of installs is so high and that 10% can sustain a community of plugin developers.
