# Invisible timeline elements are still clickable

Continuing the discussion from [Invisible timeline buttons are still clickable](https://meta.discourse.org/t/invisible-timeline-buttons-are-still-clickable/47880):

When you start composing a reply to a message, the timeline is hidden and replaced with the older navigation box. However the timeline is still clickable, and I find myself clicking there (as “blank inactive space”) to shift cursor control back to the topic sometimes. And then I end up teleporting _wildly_ back in topic history.
