This reminds me of [Dark/Light Mode Toggle delivers mixed results when OS settings do not match toggle settings](https://meta.discourse.org/t/dark-light-mode-toggle-delivers-mixed-results-when-os-settings-do-not-match-toggle-settings/386568). Maybe that’s the same bug.
