Is there any plan to develop a rewards type system that will automatically assign points to members based on their contributions? ---

No. The Trust Level and Likes systems already exist. Doing more “gamification” risks causing people to chase points instead of actually contributing. ---

I‘ve seen that in Woltlab, and it was predictable and kind of boring. Reaching specific badges without having to care about number of points is a nice thing, in my communities users like that. Valuable community members identify themselves with different metrics than just points 🙂
