# Is Discourse community use the basic theme?

I like it like that, simple. If I buy the pro plan I will start my community with this theme without any custom works ?

I forgot to ask: is it easy to get Discourse translated in French? Just a file to upload or something similar?

This forum offers a few themes (you can change which one you see with the theme toggle at the bottom of the sidebar or in your [preferences](https://meta.discourse.org/my/preferences/interface)). The Foundation theme (I think that may be the one you mean) is one of the 2 themes that are installed by default. The second one is Horizon.

In general, itās easier to start different topics for different questions. Then both can have a title that describes what itās about, and itās more likely someone knowing the answer will read the topic and reply.
The Discourse interface is translated to French, currently about 94%. You rarely see 100% because new features, and with them new texts, are added almost daily. [Everyone can help to translate Discourse](https://meta.discourse.org/t/contributing-translations-to-discourse/14882/1). There is also a translation agency working on adding missing translations and ensuring consistent translations. These translations are part of Discourse, you donāt need a separate file, and new translations are also included in the Discourse updates.
Admins can also change any text in their forum, so if a specific text is quite important for your community and has not yet been translated, you can immediately change it by [customizing the text.](https://meta.discourse.org/t/customize-text-in-discourse/36092)

Discourse is already translated into French. If your entire community is French, you only need to change the ādefault localeā setting to āFrenchā and youāre all set š

I come from XenForo, I use it for years, I donāt have any community right now but Iām thinking of creating a new one.

Is it possible to modify translations on a case-by-case basis? I read a discussion about the French translation of Discourse [Quality of French Translations](https://meta.discourse.org/t/quality-of-french-translations/135871/1) (which is now done by an agency), but I was wondering if every forum administrator could easily translate expressions as they wish from the dashboard.
