Is it possible to get onebox URL previews with the URLS included in the post? ---

Yes. At least if using the RSS plugin. I changed in that case a site setting to import full post. Without setting to fully import there is a smaller preview with option for the reader to expand the import or use the companion link to visit the site. The Companion discussion link populates for the other forum.
