# Issue with Email Templates: Paste Disabled & No Create Permissions

I’m hitting a roadblock with the email templates. The paste function is disabled, which means I can’t add paste our existing templates. I also don’t see the options to create new templates

How do you intend to use the new template if you were able to create one?
The templates you can customize are used in the code when certain events happen. If you added a new template, there would still be no place where this would be used.

I was hoping there was a provision to code in new templates.
Is there anywhere I can turn on paste on the template field?

Are you having this issue with a specific template? all of them? we don’t restrict paste there, so perhaps it’s a browser issue… are you able to paste into the composer or other inputs on your Discourse site?
